DEAR FRIENDS –
Since I was ten years old, cars have been a part of me. I had
no doubt in my mind that I was going to be part of the car world.
What I wanted to become was a car designer! It hasn’t been
easy, but thanks to my will and determination, I made my childhood
dream come true.
dream was to design a Ferrari and, lo and behold, while working
at PININFARINA, it came true. I am a lucky man to have been able
to fulfill my lifelong dreams.
The dream began on a cold
and snowy January day in 1988 when I first started at BERTONE.
During my year there, I had the pleasure and honor to meet in
person Maestro Nuccio Bertone, an extraordinary man, whose teachings
led to my transfer to PININFARINA where I am currently senior
During my 21 year tenure
at PININFARINA, I have had the opportunity to collaborate and
give my creative input in the creation of many car models, such
as the F50, the 355, the 550 MARANELLO, and the latest, the CALIFORNIA.
Over time I became to appreciate
classic car models, especially those I loved in my youth. At the
beginning, I started to sketch these oldies “just for fun.”
After a few years, what started as a hobby became the second passion
of my life.
Every time I start a new
project, I face the challenge to give an object of the recent
past a new life. By using a hyper-realistic technique, I emphasize
the reflection of surfaces, of the chrome-work and the beauty
of the details, while I take care not to make a cold and academic
I hope that those who explore
my work for the first time will grasp and enjoy the subtleties
and angles that I have put into my designs. Thanks
for your interest and enjoy the show!
